I didn't quite explain it in the video, but here's why black bars pop-up: - NUTSHELL: The aspect ratio (ie. ratio of width : height) of your source footage (ie. your gameplay or whatever) does not match your project settings. - The common resolution of a HD YouTube video should either be 1280x720 (HD-720p) or 1920x1080 (Full HD-1080p). Both have an aspect ratio of 16:9. - If your footage does not match this aspect ratio of 16:9, black bars will appear to fill in the space. - The fix is either to stretch (method 1) or zoom (method 2). - Method 1 fills black bars without cutting anything out of the frame, but makes everything wider. - Method 2 maintains the size of everything in the picture, but zooms in thus cutting out portions of your frame. - BEST FIX: Make sure your footage is 16:9 aspect ratio. Not exactly a fix, but it's the only way to guarantee no black bars and undistorted footage. So yeah guys that's basically the reason why black bars appear on your videos.
