The Flowering Tree Collection is just one aspect of the dramatic flower filled grounds of the USNA. Other important gardens include the spectacular Asian Garden, elegant Herb Garden and revered National Bonsai and Penjing Museum. Then Dave visited with renowned plantsman, Tony Avent, at his garden and nursery outside of Raleigh, NC. The garden is an expression of his personal taste for plants and his constant search for excellent plant material that will survive the brutally hot summers of the South and stretch the limits of cold tolerance. His taste for the exotic and uncommon can be seen everywhere.
